Elizabeth Lussier Chosen to Lead Program Development and Marketing at Grotonwood-Oceanwood
GROTON, MA (January 31, 2011) - Grotonwood &
Oceanwood are excited to expand their growing team with
Elizabeth Lussier, who will serve as the full time Director of
Program Development and Marketing for both camping and
conference centers.
Liz's skills in relationship-building are based in integrity, trust,
and compassion, and will be indispensable as she reaches out to
churches to grow Grotonwood & Oceanwood's ministries. In
this role she will assess the needs and desires of the camps'
greater communities and implement relevant and effective
programs at both sites.
With 25 years of experience in Christian education,
programming and administration, Liz brings a wealth of
knowledge and expertise to her new position. Her professional history includes service as the
Administrative Head for a private Christian school, Regional Administrator for the Association of
Christian Schools International (N.E./NY), Assistant Chair of the New England Association of
Schools & Colleges Inc. Visiting Team, Treasurer of Rhode Island Association of Camps, and
director of a Christian camp in Rhode Island.
In these positions, Liz developed major marketing plans, connected with leading Christian
organizations nationwide, reaccredited a camp with A.C.A., implemented new programs, and
restored buildings using endowment funding and donor gifts.
As Liz works to strengthen relationships within the community, she is driven by the passion to
inspire others to recognize and hone their God-given skills. She welcomes volunteers interested
in furthering the camps' reach within the region and beyond to assist her in these efforts.
Liz and her husband Chris are active members of Wakefield Baptist Church (RI). Liz has one
daughter, Rachael, who lives in Fairfax County, VA. Friends of Grotonwood - Oceanwood are

Grotonwood-Oceanwood Welcomes Scott Merrow as Oceanwood's New Resident Director
OCEAN PARK, ME (January 31, 2011) - Grotonwood-
Oceanwood Camp and Conference Center is excited to
welcome Scott Merrow as Oceanwood's new full-time
Resident Director.
Scott's passion, enthusiasm, and inspiring, versatile, and
hands-on leadership style equip him with unequaled
suitability in his role as Resident Director. Friends of
Oceanwood can expect positive growth within their
much loved camp in coming months, as Scott settles into
this new position and begins to look towards the future.
Scott comes to Oceanwood with over 15 years of
experience as a summer camp and retreat center
professional. Scott's heart for camping originated at
Camp Calumet in Freedom, NH, where he spent ten
summers serving as a CIT, support staff member, counselor, leader, and director. From his origins
at Camp Calumet, Scott has branched out as Camp Director, Executive Director, and Consultant
at other camps and nonprofits in the Northeast.
Topping out a long list of qualifications include Scott's active membership in the American Camp
Association, where he has served as the Chair of the New and Emerging Camp Directors Course,
the Public Relations Committee, a Camp and Conference Center Standards Visitor, and General
Sessions Chair of the Tri-State Camp Conference. Over the years, Scott also gave his time to
Camp Marist & Marist Retreat Center (NH), Camps Kenwood & Evergreen (NH), Camp
Schodack (in the Berkshires), and the Camp Fire Boys and Girls (Eastern MA).
In the early spring, Scott will marry his fiance Dayna and his family of six will include C.J. (19),
Mitchell (17), Tyler (11), and Meghan (7). Scott remarks,"I am very excited about becoming a
member of the Oceanwood Family. I have started to meet some of the alumni, current families and
staff and already get a sense for want a special community this is. It feels like an ideal fit for me and
my family." Friends of Grotonwood-Oceanwood are invited to reach out to Scott and his family to
