Back to Grotonwood Special Needs CampsThis is our basic camp for Adults with Special Needs Come to camp and enjoy popular activities such as recreation, crafts, archery, pontoon and paddle boat rides, fishing, singing in the chapel, campfires, karaoke, swimming and field games. In-camp transportation is provided for those with difficult walking. Wheelchair-bound campers are discouraged from attending camp, as our terrain is so hilly. If you have a question, we will deal with campers in wheelchairs on a case-by-case basis.

What you need to know
The four-page camper application AND four-page medical form must be received by Grotonwood-Oceanwood, along with payment of the non-refundable/non-transferable deposit, in order to reserve a space for camp.
PHONE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted. ONLINE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted, due to the length of the application.
ALL applicants are required to complete the application and medical form. It is very important to be as detailed as possible to ensure adequate care for the camper. Once the application form is filled out, return it to the address listed on the form, along with the deposit. Just sending the completed application and deposit does NOT guarantee the camper a spot for the session. Prior to acceptance to camp, camp personnel and the camp nurse will review all forms. If any questions arise, camp personnel will contact the care provider or responsible person using the phone numbers provided on the application forms.
HOLDOVER weekends are available at GROTONWOOD only. They are ONLY for those campers registering for 2 consecutive weeks of camp. NOTE: Holdovers are also designed for those campers able to handle 2 full weeks of camp and who are high-functioning with NO mobility issues. If you have a question about holdovers, PLEASE call the camp office BEFORE you complete the application.
