Back to Grotonwood Special Needs CampsA program designed for adults who are able to participate in a larger variety of activities (hiking, amusement parks, bowling, and other field trips) during the summer. This program REQUIRES a higher level of independent living skills than other programs. Because the program is for active special needs adults, applications will be carefully reviewed. People with any mobility issues are NOT appropriate for Trips weeks; please register for a "Vacation" week instead.

What you need to know
The four-page camper application AND four-page medical form must be received by Grotonwood-Oceanwood, along with payment of the non-refundable/non-transferable deposit, in order to reserve a space for camp.
PHONE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted. ONLINE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted, due to the length of the application.
ALL applicants are required to complete the application and medical form. It is very important to be as detailed as possible to ensure adequate care for the camper. Once the application form is filled out, return it to the address listed on the form, along with the deposit. Just sending the completed application and deposit does NOT guarantee the camper a spot for the session. Prior to acceptance to camp, camp personnel and the camp nurse will review all forms. If any questions arise, camp personnel will contact the care provider or responsible person using the phone numbers provided on the application forms.
HOLDOVER weekends are available at GROTONWOOD only. They are ONLY for those campers registering for 2 consecutive weeks of camp. NOTE: Holdovers are also designed for those campers able to handle 2 full weeks of camp and who are high-functioning with NO mobility issues. If you have a question about holdovers, PLEASE call the camp office BEFORE you complete the application.
